The programme will consist of a set of high-level plenary speakers, tutorials, invited papers, workshops, symposia, and most importantly, parallel sessions with your contributions, technical papers, demonstrations and posters. The programme will highlight new breakthroughs in the field of optical communications in different areas. The programme, the session and the paper submisison is organised through a set of sub-committees which garantuees a review of your paper by experts in the field as well as a programme built around tehmatic sessions. These sub-committees are listed below and a choice will be required when submitting your paper:

SC1 - Novel Fibres, Fibre Devices and Fibre Amplifiers

SC2 - Optoelectronic Devices and Technologies

SC3 - Integrated and co-integrated circuits

SC4 - Techniques for digitally enhancing optical communication

SC5 – Optical Transmission systems

SC6 - Theory of Optical Communications

SC7 - Photonics for RF and Free Space Optics applications

SC8 - Core and metro networks

As has been the case at ECOC 2018 and all even years, Brussels will also host a CLEO/Europe Focus Meeting within the ECOC 2020 programme.

On top of this, Brussels is home to the European Commission and the majority of the European Union’s Institutions, making it the bustling political heart of Europe and consequently also of the Horizon 2020 programme. ECOC 2020 will include several initiatives such as ECOC 2020 Workshops, ECOC 2020 Demo Session and events which will focus on and highlight the importance of the H2020 programme in the fields covered by ECOC.
